The studio

Astruc Sola is an architecture studio based in Bergen, Norway, working in the intersection between art and architecture. The studio concentrates on making bespoke projects with special attention to material, proportion and spatial qualities. We see each place and each project as unique, and thus in need for a specific regard. In this process we do our best to be mindful and analytical, letting the project reveal itself.

Together with our clients and collaborators, we investigate by making sketches, models, collecting images, objects and other clues in order to figure out what we like and what makes sense in the given project. We work with both digital and analogue tools, and try to find new modes of expression. We have a deep interest in natural elements and atmospheres, and how they can relate to and coexist with the built. We also like challenging our perception of what is ‘rational’, and sometimes leaving elements up to imagination.

In our practice, we are interested in working on a wide varierty of projects and scales, from furniture objects, installations and interiors, to feasibility studies, renovations, house additions, single-family houses, appartment buildings, gardens, and more.

Do you have a project or collaboration in mind, or want to know more about what we do? We’d love to hear from you.
